When an individual is in a difficult situation, he or she may not always make the wisest decisions. In some cases, these unwise decisions could potentially lead to criminal charges. However, past decisions do not necessarily have to set the tone for future decisions. One man in Minnesota may be taking such steps after having charges filed against him. It was reported that the man allegedly got into a Minnesota Department of Transportation vehicle and drove away. Reportedly, the man was not an employee of the MnDoT. Workers with that department contacted police about the purported vehicle theft.
Authorities pursued the pickup truck for a short time, and eventually, the driver came to a stop. He was taken into custody and is currently facing charges of motor vehicle theft and evading police. These allegations are considered felonies. The MnDoT stated that the pickup truck is not in its possession as it is likely being used as part of the police investigation.
Felony theft charges can take a considerable toll on the man’s situation if he is convicted. He will likely want to work alongside his defense counsel toward defending against those allegations.
