The state of Minnesota takes drug charges very seriously, and rightfully so. The manufacture, sale and abuse of drugs is a serious social problem, one that affects many parts of our society and culture. Those who are faced with drug crime charges are in a sobering legal position, and face a wide range of repercussions if a conviction is obtained.
Such is the case for one 21-year-old man who was recently arrested in another state and is now awaiting extradition back to Minnesota. Police claim that the man is responsible for the deaths of two individuals who were using a synthetic drug when they overdosed. Those deaths occurred in separate incidents.
The young man now faces charges of third-degree murder in the case. Police believe that the dangerous synthetic drug, known as 25C-NBOMe, went through multiple hands before being purchased by the two people who overdosed. The drug is often marketed as LSD, and has hallucinogenic effects. In addition to the murder charges, the man also faces multiple drug charges in the matter.
In preparing for the criminal case against him, the young man’s legal team will begin by examining all evidence held by the prosecution. In doing so, they will determine how to proceed, and whether to fight the charges or work toward a plea deal. As with any drug crime accusation, the punitive measures that the state of Minnesota can mete out in such cases are severe, making it imperative that this young man take an aggressive legal stance concerning the matter.
