A former radio host was recently arrested in Minneapolis. He was taken into police custody following a traffic stop. The Minnesota authorities allegedly discovered suspected methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia, and the 47-year-old now faces charges relating to his accusations.
At 4:40 p.m., the authorities supposedly spotted a vehicle traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph area. When the officers pulled the vehicle over, they allegedly discovered that the driver was driving despite his license being suspended for unspecified reasons, and he also purportedly had a warrant out for his arrest from another county. The officers conducted a search of the man’s person, and they claim to have found a small piece of paper with a crystal-like substance folded within it.
The officers believe that the substance they discovered was methamphetamine. The authorities also supposedly found two hypodermic needles in the man’s pants pocket. While searching the vehicle, the officers allegedly discovered 31 used hypodermic needles within a bag, and one needle had a suspected controlled substance in liquid form inside of it. The man was taken into police custody at 4:52 p.m., and he was charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.
The man has reportedly been convicted for possession of a controlled substance in the past; however, a past conviction does not necessarily indicate that the man is guilty of the current crime. Furthermore, the man would do well to scrutinize each aspect of his arrest as he forms his criminal defense against methamphetamine accusations. If it is found that the Minnesota police officers did not follow proper procedure during the man’s search and arrest process, then it could have an effect on his case.
