Minnesota man charged with DWI after alleged police chase

On Behalf of | Sep 18, 2015 | Drunk Driving

Individuals who are facing charges for alleged criminal activity will likely want to better understand what the allegations mean. Therefore, gaining more knowledge on charges relating to DWI and other violations may help parties be able to make more informed decisions as their cases proceed. Individuals may also wish to pay particular attention to information regarding criminal defense strategies.

One man in Minnesota may be working to gather such information after he was recently stopped by police. It was reported that authorities were alerted to a driver that had allegedly been swerving on the roadway. Police reportedly attempted to stop a truck that was pulling a trailer, but the driver purportedly led officers on a chase. The driver reportedly stopped at his place of residence and authorities took him into custody.

The driver was reported as being a 40-year-old man. His blood-alcohol level at the time of the alleged incident was reportedly .24 percent, which is three times the legal limit. The man has allegedly faced charges for driving violations in the past, including charges for DWI. It was unclear whether these previous charges and convictions will affect his current predicament.

Because repeat violations can lead to an increase in punishments in some cases, the man may wish to understand whether he could be at risk of facing more severe charges due to his alleged past transgressions. Information on Minnesota criminal proceedings relating to DWI may help him determine how to handle his case. Additionally, discussing his state of affairs with his legal counsel may also be a wise step to take.
