One Minnesota man may be looking into the best possible ways to handle his case after recently being taken into custody. It was reported that the man was allegedly involved in prostitution and was “pimping out” a 17-year-old girl in order to make money. The girl had reportedly approached the 30-year-old man at a party and asked to borrow money. He allegedly began setting up events where the girl would purportedly strip and have sexual intercourse for money.
Authorities apparently became aware of the situation after responding to a domestic disturbance call. The girl was reportedly one of the people involved in an argument. After authorities arrived at the scene, the girl purportedly told them that she was a prostitute, and she also allegedly stated that she felt like the man’s property.
At one point when the girl reportedly tried to stop dealing with the man, he allegedly threatened to “get” her. As a result of the situation, the man was taken into custody on charges of promoting prostitution. It was mentioned that the man has had previous convictions for sexual offenses.
In order to handle his case in the manner that he sees fit, the man will likely want to explore his criminal defense options. By better understanding certain strategies, he may be able to create and present a meaningful defense and move forward more confidently. Information on Minnesota criminal proceedings relating to prostitution may also prove beneficial as his case moves through the criminal justice system.
