Gun crime: Minnesota man facing federal charges for firearm sales

It was recently reported that a man in Minnesota is facing a serious legal predicament relating to the alleged sale of firearms. The gun crime reportedly took place when the man would buy and sell weapons over the Internet. Reports stated that the man would purportedly buy firearms from licensed sellers from other states through online auctions. He would then allegedly sell them on another website though he did not have a license.

The man allegedly made multiple transactions, and he purportedly sold a firearm to an undercover officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF. That reported transaction supposedly took place in January, but the allegations span approximately two years worth of sales. It was noted that multiple handguns purportedly sold by the man were allegedly used in crimes.

The man was recently taken into custody, and he is currently facing charges for willfully dealing firearms without a license and for making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. He is being charged with nine counts of the second allegation. It was also reported that the man allegedly sold more than 40 guns through the website he used.

The serious charges that have been leveled against the man could come with severe consequences if he is convicted. Therefore, he may wish to work toward a more desirable outcome. If he wishes to do so, he may find gathering information on criminal defense options beneficial to his situation. Additionally, gaining more knowledge on Minnesota criminal proceedings relating to gun crime may allow him to better understand what he may face as his legal case moves forward.
